THE FIRST POLE FOR TEAM DYNAMICS COMES AT CROFT, gordon shedden won an tough battle for pole at the croft circuit and showed matt neal the way for the new honda civic. It was a close thing for shedden as the first four rows were within half a second and his team mate matt neal in the sister car was also hot his heals coming 3rd on the second row in the 30 minute qualifying session , gordon put in a storming lap though and fought off the second place man colin turkington by an absolute fraction of a second to take the pole for the first race at the north east circuit. A proven winner with team dynamics gordon will surley look for the first corner as being his own, and he is as hard a battler as they come in race trim ,not normally a pole winner but as past races show he can lead from the front and get to the win.
The vectra of giovanardi could be a suprise package for shedden though as problems for the vauxhall pilot which were only recognised late in the session only enabled him to secure a fifth place on the grid, surely a dissapointment for giovanardi, a driver who since last year has shown a true talent in the btcc, a slow start for him in qualifying was caused by a suspension problem, although quickly rectified it was discovered to late in the session and giovanardi's best time was surely compromised had his car been firmly planted for the majority of qualifying. |
